Devy Draft Advice

What's up guys. I'm in a Superflex, IDP, Salary Cap, 0.5 PPR dynasty & I wanted everyone's opinion on who I should draft since it's Superflex. It's only a two round Devy draft so there is some talent available, but here is a list of all the players taken in previous years drafts

QB - Kyle Allen, JT Barrett, Luke Falk, Lamar Jackson, Josh Rosen, Mason Rudolph, Asiantii Woulard, Jake Browning, Jacob Eason, & Keller Chryst

RB - Saquan Barkley, Royce Freeman, Nick Chubb, Bo Scarborough, Derrius Guice, Jalen Hurd, Sony Michel, LJ Scott, Mike Weber, Dontre Wilson

WR - Christian Kirk, Stacy Coley, Calvin Ridley, Travin Dural, Tyron Johnson

Any players that have declared for the 2017 NFL Draft are not eligible to be drafted.

I have picks 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.7, 1.8, & 1.12

Currently I think I'm going to pick QB Sam Darnold, QB Josh Allen, & WR Courtland Sutton with the first three picks.

Who would are your best available considering it's a Superflex?

I love my one devy league...makes Saturdays more fun also...lots of potential still out there...here is what I would do (assuming you can draft from any draft year):

1.01...Sam Darnold (could be the 1st overall pick in NFL draft)
1.02...Courtland Sutton (taking the Corey Davis approach, and I think it will pay off for Sutton also)

After those two picks, I am moving on from the 2018 class as I just don't like much of what is left (I think this class is 7 deep for superflex with Barkley/Chubb/Guice/Sutton/Ridley/Rosen/Darnold).

I should also add that I don't play IDP so I have no idea if there is anyone so I am only looking at offense.

1.03...DK Metcalf (start looking at the 2019/2020 classes for stud potential, and if it is me, I am going with the top WR from this class...had an unfortunate ankle injury, but do yourself a favor and check out his reception:TD ratio for kicks)

1.07/1.08...Just throw a few names out there to consider...Deon Cain if he makes it is about the only remaining 2018 player I would want, but he does come with risks. But given this might be the cheapest you can get a stud, I am swinging for the fences. In this range, look at Elijah Holyfield at RB, under the radar behind Chubb, but could have a Guice like usage heading into his 2019 draft year. I also like a a trio of WRs from this class that could fall into these spots: Tyrie Cleveland/Kyle Davis/N'Keal Harry...they all have upside, Harry was most productive his freshman year though, however I like Cleveland a lot also.

1.12...Here is a great spot to take a huge shot! Go with Najee Harris or Cam Akers. Two highly touted backs that have nice size and are going to produce. They may be off the radar for some of your leaguemates, but they won't be come this time next year. Snap one of them up now!

I suppose you could take Josh Allen if you are desperate for QB play, and not being able to see your roster we are guessing, but it is just Superflex, not 2QB so while it is nice to play a 2nd QB, it isn't always critical if you have production elsewhere. QB scoring is also relevant...for example if it is only 4-pts for passing TD, then I would take Darnold and pass on Allen for better players. Take the players likely to become studs, not based on your format.

Let us know how it goes!

Be careful with devy qb's. I contend you're better off with RB's and WR's. Even in a superflex. Guys like Rosen, Darnold, and Jackson are no sure thing.

Ronald Jones III is a name to monitor too. RB USC.

I recommend not chasing QBs in devy, they are to unpredictable. Much like Shaft said, you are better off going after RBs and WRs and then if you need to later trade for a QB.
