Pre-Draft Consensus Rookie Mock: 1.01

Postby DynoScout » Sun Mar 15, 2015 5:41 am

Will try to move along as soon as there is a clear consensus. Hoping to not leave any single poll open for more than a few days.

Thanks for voting and for any commentary you add below.

I am such a Kevin White fan. I pegged him as the guy to target at 1.04 back in December (for my team). Then when he started gaining hype, I started to worry I wouldn't get him. His projection lept from mid-late first to early 1st, and someone on the hype train wanted my 1.04 in exchange for McCoy. I'm sure he was hoping for Kevin White, so I pulled the trigger.

KW won't make it past 2 in most drafts I assume, and if his landing spot is decent, he could be #1 in nearly all rookie drafts.

Gurley-Cooper-White is my top 3.

I agree and it seems to be the current consensus.

I like Gordon just fine, but in my opinion he's a bit more situation dependent than Gurley. All RBs tend to be more situation dependent than their peer WR, so I'm a bit surprised that Gurley is steamrolling the field right now. (Even though I voted for Gurley.)

My guess? Chalk it up to the positional scarcity of 3-down RBs.

I voted Cooper. I am assuming I earned the 1.01 in this case, I want a safe high upside wide receiver who can be a cornerstone piece.

Gurley, white are also really close for me and my opinion on gordon changes every day.

Ditto. If I have the 1.1 I can't afford a miss. Cooper is as close to a sure thing as there is in this draft. Take the points, let others deal with risk.

Yep, I too feel the same way. If I have the 1.1 I'm going safe with Amari Cooper.

I don't feel nearly as good about Gurley as the masses. Big, strong, fast, but I'm not sure about his true football characteristics. The injuries are also a concern. I would definitely look Cooper/White, depending on end destination, but voted Cooper since he's my top rated guy for performance and safety.

Just means there will be a lot of disappointed owners in a few years. Who cares. I agree, 4th for me, and if he fell to 4, I'd trade the pick.

I'm in non PPR-I have the 1.01, and yes it is. Cooper is the only other guy I would even consider, but I'm better at WR than RB.

Nothing worse then missing on your at 1.01. Take the solid points and don't try and be fancy. Cooper is the safest player in this draft. I like White a lot but he has boom or bust written all over him. The higher floor wins my vote was for Cooper.

As for RBs while they are harder to acquire and tend to cost more in dynasty the long term return of WR should be the focus of someone in a rebuild (I'm assuming that's why you're picking 1.01).
Team #1
QB: Brady Goff Lauletta
RB: JHoward Collins RoJo DMartin Barber Warren Lindsay White
WR: Julio Edelman Baldwin Tate Funchess Anderson ZJones Ateman Callaway Kumerow
TE: Cook Walker Ertz
K: Gostkowski

Team #2
QB - Wentz, Hurts
RB - Dobbins, Jacobs, Sermon, Singletary, DHenderson
WR - Higgins, VJefferson, Sutton, Quez, Berrios
TE - Andrews, Irving Jr, Rudolph
DL - JPP, Allen, Nassim, Wolfe
LB - JBrown, MHarrison, RWilson
S - Savage, Jackson

Personally I don't see anyone with a higher ceiling either. To be that fast, and smooth and precise at running routes at 20 in phenomenal. Think about how good he could be in 3-4 years!I
Blows my mind that over half the voters went for the guy with the ACL tear, who can't even stay on a football field consistently! Missed 13 games through suspension/injury over the last 2 years and his production has declined each of his 3 years. Consensus 1.01=overrated! I would have to be lobotomized before I took him with my 1.01.
