With the first pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the St. Louis Rams select:

Sam Bradford,QB,Oklahoma

You can not win without a franchise QB! The Rams know this and they like Sam Bradford, even more after his pro day.

Unless they trade for a QB prior to teh draft, there is almost no way them passing up on Bradford!

He is their new face of the franchise!

With the second pick the Detroit Lions select:

Ndamukong Suh DT Nebraska

Best defensive tackle prospect in a long time. Schwartz is a defensive coach who has already rebuilt most of his line using free agency, and he saved one spot for the Nebraskan Nightmare (I know, the nickname is a ripoff but anything that makes me think of Chrisitian Okoye is fine by me).

With the 3rd pick in the NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Gerald McCoy DT Oklahoma

Image

Tampa Bay has a number of needs and luckily it aligns with the BPA. McCoy will get some pressure on the QB and make their overall defense MUCH better.

Other considerations: Eric Berry, Russell Okung, Jason Pierre-Paul

This might've been a hard choice at one time. Bradford, Clausen, and Okung were all viable, as would a trade down. The Redskins will probably be working teh phones frantically this draft trying to move down or leverage Fred Davis, Jason Campbell, Andre Carter, Albert Hurtworth, or LaRon "Double Move" Landry into extra picks.

But the McNabb trade demonstrates pretty clearly that Shanahan believes this team can compete NOW. I'm not sure I agree, especially with the system change, but if that's the case the team's most gaping need AND the best value on the board line up in perfect synergy: Russell Okung. I believe Okung is the best OT prospect of the last couple drafts which have been DEEP at OT, but not particularly top-heavy and will instantly make a huge difference to the Redskins.

I will note that I think there's a solid chance that the Lions may take Okung. If that were the case, I would expect them to try to trade down even harder, but then it becomes a choice between Berry and Trent Williams. I'd favor Trent Williams, but getting Berry which would allow a Landry trade or move to SS (where he was drafted to play, but hasn't played since Sean Taylor's death), would make some sense.

Russell Okung, OT, OSU

With the 5th pick the Chiefs take...

Bryan Bulaga Tackle Iowa

Image

Not a sexy pick, but a need pick on a position that will go dry by midway thru the 1st. Left tackle is one of the most important positions in football, and the Chiefs get the anchor to their for the next Decade... If you don't believe me read, NOT WATCH the movie the blind side. If there wasn't a threat of allot of tackles coming off the board early, Cheifs could take Berry here. Clausen, not going to happen, they put way too much Money into Cassel to jump ship after one season, he's no Jamarcus Russle.[/b]

With the 6th pick in the NFL draft the Seattle Seahawks select Eric Berry S Tennessee

Image

Offensive Tackle is the biggest need for the Seahawks with the retirement of Walter Jones. They have many other needs here but I think this fits. I had posted the pick as Eric Berry but was talked out of it. I see Berry as a top 3 talent but I think there will be value at safety later on as well. I think Dez Bryant and Eric Berry are very much a consideration here as well as Derek Morgan and Jason Pierre-Paul

Other considerations: Eric Berry, Joe Haden, Jason Pierre-Paul, Derrick Morgan, Dez Bryant

With the 7th pick in the NFL draft the Cleveland Browns select Eric Berry S Tennessee

Image

The Browns have a lot of issues and could go in a number of directions at this point. Eric Berry is the BPA and at a serious postion of need.

Other considerations: Joe Haden, Jimmy Clausen, Earl Thomas, Sergio Kindle

With the 8th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Oakland Raiders select: OT Bruce Campbell, Maryland

Image

While the Raiders have a lot of needs, offensive line is certainly one of them. After his great performance at the combine, Campbell's the guy.

Other considerations: Jimmy Clausen, Jason Pierre-Paul

Pick made by Phish Brigade via PM

With the 9th selection in the NFL draft the Buffalo Bills select Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame

Image

The Bills have an obvious void at QB. I think this pick comes down to Clausen's pro day and the interview process. Offensive tackle and possibly reaching for a nose tackle is possible here as well.

Other considerations: Dan Williams, Anthony Davis, Joe Haden

With the 10th pick in the 2010 NFL draft the Jacksonville Jaguars select Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, University of South Florida

Image

Clausen could be a possibility, had he dropped, but lets face it the #1 need on this team is pass rushers. JPP is a Florida native and gaining enough popularity to invigorate the fan base at least somewhat. Knowledgable Jaguar fans should applaud the pick as addressing a glaring team hole. Playing in a division with Indy and Houston it does not matter who your defensive backs are they will eventually be burned without pressure on Manning and Schaub. The Jags defense needs to get its bite back after a dismal 14 sacks in 2009 (only 3 more than the all-time record low).

Other players considered: Derrick Morgan, Dez Bryant and Joe Haden

The Denver Broncos select LB Rolando McClainImage

I dont see them passing up this guy. He is smart good football player and imo a very low risk pick who can address the needs at ILB well.

Other player considered: One Dez Bryant

With the 12th pick of the NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select: Dan Williams DT Tennessee

Image

Combine Jason Ferguson's age, injury history, and looming 8 game suspension, then this pick almost seems like a no-brainer. NT is the most important position of a 3-4 defense and no one knows this better than Bill Parcells.

Also considered: Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma St, Sergio Kindle OLB Texas
ECFFL (Commissioner) - Mullet Mullitia
Gridiron 3 - Hamden Hawks
UDL - Connecticut Cowboys

With the 14th pick in the NFL draft the Seattle Seahawks select Derrick Morgan DE

Image

My first instinct was to select Dez Bryant but the defense needs some help as well. Derrick Morgan is a top 10 talent and a great value at this point. He plays with 100% effort at all times and is equally good against the pass and run.

Other considerations: Dez Bryant, CJ Spiller, Earl Thomas
