Image

After much deliberation on whether to go after a defensive tackle or an offensive tackle, the Chargers decided they wanted to put a legitimate threat alongside Vincent Jackson at WR.

With the 61st pick, the New York Jets select Jordan Shipley, WR/Texas

Potentially great possession receiver in the NFL in the style of Welker. Shipley will be an immediate impact player for the Jets and will be heavily used by Sanchez. Also considered drafting a corner- or safety but could not pass up the opportunity to add Shipley.

With the 62nd pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select:

Kareem Jackson, CB, Alabama

Jackson fills another need for the Vikings as Griffin is recovering from a recent ACL injury and Winfield is getting long in the tooth. He also fits what the Vikings like to have from their corners as far as run-support, as detailed here: "Strong wrap-up tackler. Brings his hips through and can be a big hitter on the boundary."

More regarding Jackson:
"He logged 159 career tackles, including 106 solo stops, and added 34 passes defended, eight tackles for loss, five interceptions (164 yards), two blocked kicks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

02/11/2010 - PRO POTENTIAL: CB Kareem Jackson - A junior who surprised a lot of people by coming out early, Jackson now is projected as a potential first-round draft choice, so it's hard to argue with the decision."

With the 63rd pick in the NFL draft the Indiapolis Colts select Jared Veldheer OT Hillsdale

Image

The Colts need some help at all of the offensive line positions even for depth. Veldheer is coming out of Howard Mudd's (Oline coach) alma mater. He has a ton of upside and this is a perfect situation for him to meet it.

With the 64th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the New Orleans Saints select:

Navorro Bowman,OLB,Penn State

Image

Having adressed DT in the first, the Saints turn their attention to the outside. There´s not much coming from Shanle and Fujita, so the Saints will upgrade here and add their 2nd Penn State guy in the draft. Bowman, "plagued" by off-field issues, seems to be an athletic freak and should get turned around to the good with the Saints.

If Reggie Bush indeed leaves the Saints, Dexter McCluster might be a real option here.

With the 65th selection of the 2010 NFL draft, the St. Louis Rams select

A.J. Edds, LB, Iowa

Image

The Rams addressed a need at DT in round 1 with Suh, at QB in round 2 with Tebow, and go back to the defensive side with adding an outside linebacker to continue to bolster the defense.

With the 66th pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Detroit Lions select:

Dexter McCluster,RB/WR,Mississippi

Image

While the need of a DT still remains, the Detroit Lions need an all around playmaker badly.. someone who will draw some attention simpley because of his speed(whcih he will show of at the combine and therefore maybe not being available at this spot in the real draft) and takes away somecoverage from Calvin Johnson, something the Lions weren´t be able to provide so far. Despite his size and weight, McCluster could be a special offensive weapon in the league(at RB, Wr and in the return game). The Lions will take a DT later in the draft or accquire something via FA.

With the 67th pick of the 2010 NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select:

Lamarr Houston, DT, Texas

Image

Houston easily grades out as a 2nd round talent, probably top half, so the Buccs are extremely happy to get him here. They just can't count on Ryan Sims any longer....

With the 68th pick in the NFL draft the Kansas City Chiefs select Jon Asamoah OG Illinois

Image

The Chiefs interior line is awful. They could consider drafting a tackle here but it would be more of a project pick and they need some immediate impact. After three good defensive picks the Chiefs finally address the offense. Honestly I think they will try to go O-line in the first but he way the board fell this is how it went.

Other considerations: WR, OT, OC

With the 69th pick in the NFL draft the Oakland Raiders select Greg Hardy DE Ole Miss

Image

The Raiders get an excellent value here at a position they lack depth. They could go DT or OG in this spot as well.

With the 70th pick, the Eagles select: Montario Hardesty, RB, Tennessee

Image

I really wasn't sure what way I'd go with this pick, but with the news that Westbrook was released today... adding a RB seemed like a good idea. I have a lot of confidence in McCoy, and I think the Eagles do too. But you need to have depth at this position nowadays. I'm sure they never planned on giving Leonard Weaver 10-15 touches/game. Other considerations: CB, DE, OLine
GDF3
QB- Vick, Freeman, Hasselbeck, Yates
RB- Foster, McCoy, M Bush, Ben Tate, R Jennings, Alex Green
WR- Wallace, TBMW, Colston, Boldin, Collie, Amendola, Washington Roberts, Doss
TE- Gates, Cook, Carlson, Heap, Shiancoe
K- Cundiff, Novak
DL- Abraham, J Smith, James Hall, R Quinn, Keiser
LB- Poz, DJ Will, Vilma, Wake, Rivers, Mays, Irving
DB- Polamalu, Berry, Delmas, C Woodson, M Griffin, T Thomas, Byrd

And now intorducing the new Franchise QB for the Cleveland Browns!!!! None other than Central Michigan's Dan Lefevour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Image

The Browns are ready to move on and groom a new franchise Quarterback and Dan LeFevour has a new best friend in Browns Czar Mike Holmgren. The Quinn era is effectively over here, as the new management just isn't sold on Mr. Myoplex. A veteran QB will likely also be brought in to mentor Lefevour so that the rookie won't have to start right away, the Browns really like the skill set, leadership, and intangibles that Lefevour brings, as we're seeing more and more NFL QBs come out of the MAC conference. This is a case of Mike Holmgren making his mark on the franchise, as the Browns felt there was really good value at this point in the draft, and didn't want to reach on a QB with someone like Lefevour still available to them in round 3. Sorry Browns fans, you can now put your Quinn jerseys in storage, right next to your FRYE and COUCH jerseys

With the 72nd pick of the 2010 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills select:

Selvish Capers, OT, West Virginia.

Image

I don't think there is any way so few OTs go in the 2nd round of the real draft. By this point, 3 more guys should be gone. With that being said, Capers is a beast with excellent feet and a great initial punch. He is a 2nd round talent and will be a starter for the Bills. Demetrius Bell is done.

With the 73rd selection in the NFL draft the Miami Dolphins select Sean Lee ILB Penn State

Image

The Dolphins need some help at LB in general. Sean Lee should be a solid presence in the middle and paired along side Ricky Sapp, the Dolphins linebacker position is steadily improving.

Other considerations: DE, NT
