With the 60th pick of the NFL Draft, the San Diego Chargers select: Cam Thomas DT UNC

Image

Might be a bit of a reach here, but I think Thomas really raised his stock at the Senior Bowl. Jamal Williams will be 34 at the start of next season and spent almost all of the 2009 season on IR. Thomas has good size and power to be the NT for the Chargers.

Also considered: Arthur Jones DT Syracuse, Rashan Jones S UGA
ECFFL (Commissioner) - Mullet Mullitia
Gridiron 3 - Hamden Hawks
UDL - Connecticut Cowboys

NY Jets

Postby BubbaBurst » Sun Feb 07, 2010 7:33 am

With their 2nd rounder the Jets keep it defense. There are lots of solid porspoects on the board but the Jets need some help at DE with Ellis and the rest of the crew aging. So the Jets select

Corey Wootton, DE Northwestern

Image

This guy has the chance to be something special. He had a monster Junior year but hurt himself in the bowl game and took a while to get back to 100% his senior year. But he has phenomenal size 6-7 280 and great speed and pass rushing skills. He's going to be all over draft boards from early rd 2 to late rd 3, but he has potential to be a hell of a player.

Others considered: Jared Odrick, PSU, Lamar Houston, UT

With the 62nd pick in the 2010 NFL draft, the Minnesota Vikings select:

Jon Asamoah,OG,Illinois

Image

With the QB position being adressed in the first rd with Jimmy Clausen, the Oline now needs his weakest link(Anthony Herrera) to be replaced. They need to do eveything to really get their best player going again. Adrian Peterson didn´t averaged more than 3.9 yards per carry from week 11-16, something they really need to change if they wanna stay in the hunt for the title of best teams in the NFL.

At 6-5 and 315, Asamoah has size and strenght. Being a 3-year starter(37 consecutive games at guard) at Illinois, he has played for one of the best offensive units in the Big-Ten.

Other players cnsidered: Joe McKnight,RB,USC - Dexter McCluster,RB/WR,Mississippi(with Chester likely leaving via FA)

Positions that still need to be adressed: DT,S,CB,LB,RB
24 roster spots - 1QB,2RB,3WR,1TE,1Flex

QB: Herbert,Minshew
RB: Breece,Walker,Taylor,BRobinson,Allgeier,Spiller
WR:Jefferson,Lamb,DJMoore,QJohnston,Jameson,MMims, T.Marshall,Shakir,Gallup
TE: Andrews,Conklin
DST:DAL
2024 picks: 1.11, 2.10, 4.01, 4.05, 4.07, 4.11

With the 63rd pick in the NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints select Arthur Jones, DT, Syracuse.

Image

After just missing out on Jon Asamoah, the Saints look to the D-Line. If it weren't for his MCL injury, Arthur Jones is a first round talent that has slid down to the Saints in the 2nd round. He has the best punch in this class and just is a beast to move on the inside. As a one-gap nose tackle in a 4-3, he will have an opportunity to shine in New Orleans.

This pick could certainly change depending on the safety position with Harper and Sharper, but stopping the run was still the Saints main issue this season.

With the 64th (should be 63rd since the Saints are going to win the Super Bow :) ) pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Super-Bowl runner up Indianapolis Colts select:

Greg Hardy, DE, Ole Miss

Hardy's stock has fallen off since there are some injury concerns about him, but his physical talent can be harnessed and refined while learning behind two tremendous defensive ends in Freeney and Mathis.
Blessed with a combination of size, strength and overall athleticism that has drawn comparisons to Julius Peppers and Mario Williams, Hardy entered his senior campaign among the highest rated prospects for the 2010 draft. But his stock dropped as he continued to battle injuries.
This pick will add depth behind their aging and oft-injured starters, who may begin to fade as the both hit ages 29 and 30 in 2010. If he can get though the injury bug, Hardy could be a steal of a pick at the end of round 2.
