From Rotoworld:
Seahawks LT Walter Jones announced on Twitter Sunday that he is retiring from football.
It's worth noting that Jones is known as something of a jokester, so we're not sure he's being for real. Still, a slew of knee and back issues have caught up to Jones, who turned 36 last month and was unable to play last season. A nine-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro first-teamer, Jones started every single game he appeared in during his 13-year career. He was perhaps the best left tackle (Orlando Pace was right there too) during the early- to mid-2000s, protecting Matt Hasselbeck's blind side and blocking for Shaun Alexander. Jones will make the Hall of Fame.
Looks like for the next mock draft a OT is going to be coming off the board with one of Seattle's first 2 picks.
DLF Members Mock Draft Time
Alex Gibbs' arrival as offensive line coach should mean more of a mid-first round,/2nd round consideration, as effective zone blocking guys can be had later, for cheaper. Charles Brown has been sized up as the ideal Alex Gibbs pick but there are others. Brown at #14 might be a reach/too early, but he may not last until our pick #40. I suppose Seattle could trade back into the first and grab Brown at the tail end of the round, but Seattle is hardly a good LT away from contention. I wouldn't be surprised to see Seattle draft a few later-round guys and allow Gibbs to mold them into quality linemen. It is not a must that we take a LT early in round 1. This class isn't all that great, and reaching on a guy at #6 would not be the best scenario, esp. given the other talent that will be available there and the huge need of adding a QB. Drafting an OT at #14 might happen, but I really doubt the team grabs one at #6.hot nikkels wrote:From Rotoworld:
