DISPERSAL DRAFT: with Expansion Players

Each February, a Dispersal Draft is held in each conference to give replacement owners control over constructing their new teams. Each orphaned team is treated as an equal. All of the abandoned player contracts, rookie draft picks, and dead money totals are available to be selected in the Dispersal Draft. Additionally, each existing owner shall offer 5 players to the Expansion Draft (players must be under contract thru next season). Only one player of these five can be taken in the Expansion Draft. Existing owners cannot lose more than one player to the Expansion Draft.

The Dispersal/Expansion Draft is categorized as a 3rd round reverse serpentine type draft. This type of draft has proven to equalize the value of the various draft slots. New owners choose their draft slot in order of the highest total on the Evil Dice Roll. Draft slots are not tradable.

New owners must select all of the available player contracts. After the player contracts are all selected, new owners may drop one player with amnesty from his cap hit. Available players in the draft carry with them all of their contractual obligations in order to maintain the league’s valuation of the entire player universe. To further this protection, the dead money totals from each orphaned team are packaged by the commissioner to be selected by drafting “A, general manager, FA HC”. The remaining draft picks from the abandoned teams are also available to select as a “package”, but will be packaged in varying quality by the commissioner. Draft pick packages are selected by drafting “AA, dynasty legend, FA HC”. Each new owner must select exactly one “A” and “AA” package. Expansion players (1 of 5) are selected by drafting "AAA, franchise, FA HC".
