Re: Trade LB for DE
I'd trade either of those LBs for Ingram in a heartbeat. Probably not Ansah because you've already got two part-time ends in Spence and Wake. Hoping that whoever you start out of that group happens to get a big play from their limited snaps seems like a recipe for starting the wrong lineup most weeks.

Re: Mark Barron or late 2019 2nd?
As everyone else has said that's too much for Barron. I've got him as an LB3. LB2s need about 70 or more solos. Although he did that last year [72] he was really efficient [3rd most efficienct Wade P inside LB in the last 6 years]. Normally WP's LBs don't get to that level. You're probably buying hi...

Re: Advice for IDP Newbie in startup draft
Yep. Load up on offensive talent. Those guys are relevant for longer. IDPs tend to churn much more season to season. Youre unlikely to be a real contender this season so get your foundation pieces in and then attack IDPs next offseason. Having said that - Joey Bosa is by far the most attractive IDP ...

Re: Martinez for Adams?
If you needed a safety then it's fine.
But I'd rather have Blake M. Safety is such a deep position with massive annual turnover. I don't really trust anyone to stay that productive across seasons

Re: Perryman
FWIW I really like Perryman. He's the only LB there I think is a solid bet for playing time.
Yes his injury history isn't ideal but he's a LB. they get dinged up.
There's no reason [beyond injury] Perryman isn't a Posluszny type producer in this defense IMO.

Re: Another LB question
Tackle efficiency of 10.6%. In the same ballpark as Duke Riley, Jon Bostic, Ben Gedeon, Lawrence Timmons, JRM. i.e. weak.dawgs4life wrote: ↑Mon Jun 11, 2018 6:55 pm Tom, did you run any efficiency numbers on him when he did start? I know small sample size but would be cool to know,
He's not someone I'm bothering to stash.

Re: Another LB question
It's multiple in NE but I classify them as a 43 scheme first and foremost. But their LB usage is really unusual. They often line up with only one true inside LB. Hightower plays virtually as an additional edge guy and they run 3 safeties a load. But it's not a big nickel scheme. Chung isn't playing ...

Re: Veterans poised to improve
Just chiming in on Robert Quinn: The Dolphins played a strong rotation last season. 2 guys at LE and 2 at RE and gave them roughly equal snaps. I like Quinn but getting to 10 sacks from 500-ish snaps is going to be very difficult for him. Not impossible but to get there he'd need to be among the top...

Re: Demaro Davis
It all goes hand in hand. "LBs have produced badly because Allen was in charge" is just as relevant as "he hasnt had any good ones". And of course good ones are often not as productive because bad LBs get targeted. You can't simply scheme around a lack of quality at LB. That's a ...

Re: Demaro Davis
Oh - also forgot to mention that his good 2017 was based on him playing 1,118 snaps. he led the league in LB playing time last year. Only 8 LBs in the past 5 seasons have played that much. It's simply not feasible that he's on the field as much next year.

Re: Demaro Davis
I've got him ranked about mid 30s for 2018. There's a few different factors at play: * He's been bad for most of his career. In 4 of his last 6 years [ie his whole career] PFF gave him a grade under 60. 3 of those years were under 50. 2017 was really his only "good" season. * In raw stats ...

Re: Need some serious IDP help
I guess he did have some big tackle games later in the season. 11 total tackles in week 13 against the Eagles. But really how many top safety weeks? I make it 2 top 12 weeks in the season. And I have to disagree with him being a SS Im afraid. Wade Phillips plays split safeties. Johnson spent 53% of ...

Re: Another LB question
What makes you think this is right? I haven't seen anything to suggest they want to move on from Van Noy and Hightower [in his role] as the top two options

Re: LA Rams Inside Linebackers Going Forward
Lots of people getting excited about Lyttleton at the moment. I urge caution. Wade Phillips does not produce top inside LBs. I see no reason he'll be any different
