Re: Week 1 Lineup Mistakes/Misses

I started Brian Quick. I must've checked/finalized my lineup moments before it was announced that he was inactive.

Re: This needs to be resolved today with your help!

Verbal agreements should never be binding. At least that's how we do it in leagues I'm in. Allow it and the next thing you know, a discussion over too many beers could turn into binding trades.

Re: What if all of your depth were rookies?

There are a handful of rookie LBs still available that I like, , Harold), but I've got to look closer at the bubble players on my team. They all have potential, but I'm still not sold on their value compared to my other bench players.

What if all of your depth were rookies?

What might you expect from a team, now and in the near future, if all of your defensive depth were rookies? My philosophy has been that you need studs as starters, but you can draft potential for the depth spots. I took that to the next level recently in an auction draft for a new 10-team league tha...

How do you honestly/realistically rate your team?

It seems to be human nature to believe that your fantasy team is better than it really is. It certainly seems the case when trying to work out a trade...everyone thinks their player has better potential simply because they picked them for their team. As a personal example, I just finished an auction...

Re: Do you have a strategy for using FAAB?

It depends. 1. Is this for the team in your signature? If not, how big is the league (how many teams and what roster size)? 2. During the season, is there any way to acquire players for free, either using a $0 bid or using "first come, first serve" waivers at the end of the week? I'm just...

Do you have a strategy for using FAAB?

I'm curious to learn your strategies for using the FAAB, especially when you have a limit to the amount of money you can spend during a season (we have a cap of $100 in one of my leagues). If you have 4-5 players you're interested in, do you go all in on 1-2 of them to ensure you get the guys you wa...

Re: Rookie Picks: 1.11 or 1.14 + 1.15?

I made the move, and ended up getting a 2016 2nd rounder added to the deal. So I traded 1.14, 1.15, and Mason Crosby for 1.11 and a 2016 second. Let's hope the earlier drafters pick who I think they'll pick. :)

Re: Rookie Picks: 1.11 or 1.14 + 1.15?

My biggest concern, if there is one, is that I tend to want rookie WRs instead of RBs. In the 10-15 range, I've got more RBs than WRs on my board. I guess this is the year I see if I stick to my best player available mentality, or if I edge more toward finding the next best WR. Another consideration...

Re: Rookie Picks: 1.11 or 1.14 + 1.15?

I also have picks 1.05 and in the second, pick 2.11. Then I don't pick again until the fourth. (I've updated my original post.)

The draft is still a couple of weeks away.

Rookie Picks: 1.11 or 1.14 + 1.15?

I've seen various rookie trade calculators, but I'm still curious to discuss trading draft picks. I'm primarily interested in the value of multiple picks vs. a single higher pick. For example, in a 16-team league, would you rather have pick 1.11 or picks 1.14 + 1.15? If you side on the 14 and 15 pic...

Re: Fantasy implications for... kickers?

The conversation about 1-point for 15 yard kicks makes me wonder if most leagues use negative points for missed field goals. Does your league? What about missed PATs?

Re: Fantasy implications for... kickers?

Mason Crosby missed 2 extra points last year, so moving them back might not help him any. :)

Cap Space Concerns: Drop Reed or Amaro?

In a 16-team league, starting 1TE and possibly more with the two Flex spots. I'm currently up against my cap ($1000) and need to dump either Jordan Reed ($64) or Jace Amaro ($24) in order to fill out my roster with rookies or other FAs. My other TE is ASJ. In theory, I can pick one up again for less...

Re: Keeping those deep bench guys, or hoping for better in F

For these guys, I can keep them as long as I want, however, there's a cap penalty if I drop them after this weekend. For these guys, their cap penalty is pretty much the same as their current salary. There will be plenty of similar guys on the free agent market, but with me being up against the cap ...
