Re: Why do we value in draft picks?

Okay, I’ll try a less snarky response, but I doubt it’ll go over any better, since this clearly seems like a hill you’re willing to die on. Even if everyone suddenly got on board with your idea of using startup rankings to value players, it’s not going to be any more helpful or useful. In a startup,...

Re: Why do we value in draft picks?

If I understand correctly, what the OP is suggesting is that everyone meticulously curate a ranked list of 200-300 NFL players (go ahead and double that if you’re one of those IDP weirdos) and keep it continuously updated so that when a stranger on a message board asks about a player’s value, we can...

Re: Favorite Non Stud/ One Year Wonder/ Jag ever

There is no right or wrong answer here but the right answer is the Nigerian Nightmare, Samkon Gado. I thought Christian Okoye was the Nigerian Nightmare... I’ll vote for Kordell Stewart. It was a couple years before my first forray into fantasy football, and nearly two decades before I’d get into d...

Re: Help with auction startup for salary cap league

I would add: the player demands that his salary be matched (or raised by, say, 10%) OR is commensurate with his ADP, whichever is higher. Otherwise, you could extend someone for far less -- especially if an injury might have dropped his ADP recently. Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I forgot to mention ...

Re: Help with auction startup for salary cap league

Poobah, Thanks for your reply. I’m curious as to why you suggest salaries rising at a predetermined rate every year. Another owner has suggested this and my thought was that it would overly complicate things. Would the salary cap also rise at a similar rate, or is this more of a mechanism to promote...

Help with auction startup for salary cap league

In the process for hammering out the logistics of a startup auction for a new salary cap league. My thought was that our auction budget should simply be the same as our salary cap. The winning bid on a given player would then become his annual salary. After the auction, owners would have a few days ...

Re: Trading away AB (POLL)

Kmani6 doesn't seem to get: TE premium, start 2 TE, or within position valuation. Never have played TE premium or start 2 TE but anyone can look at the numbers and figure out Ertz is likely going to score more than the combined TEs of some other teams. Ertz easy in this format. FWIW: Both are neari...

Re: Trading away AB (POLL)

I’d just like to add that anyone who says Ertz’s 2017 season wasn’t “special” probably isn’t very good at fantasy football. In normal (i.e. non-TE premium) PPR settings, the gap in PPG between Ertz as the overall TE3 and Walker as the TE4 was the largest gap between ANY two consecutively ranked play...

What other pieces does he have that are of similar value to Ridley minus the certain regression?

Re: Trade Advice: McKinnon/Royce

I own McKinnon and I think my 2020 1st will be mid/late. I would trade that package for Freeman + 1.04. Full disclosure: I am a Lindsay owner and believer, and I still think Freeman is a very good RB, so I would view owning that backfield as a solid hedge for the next couple years with the potential...

Re: Auction start up logistics

I’m also in the process of starting a new salary cap dynasty league. It seems to me that the easiest way to do it would be to make the auction budget the same amount as the salary cap. Whatever the winning bid is on a given player becomes his annual salary. After the auction concludes, owners would ...

I’d rather try to acquire Jaylen Samuels while he’s still relatively inexpensive than overpay for Conner, especially if you’re looking to lock down the Steelers starting RB for the next few years.

I would be giving up Samuels to get Ronald Jones. I have Barber he has Conner. Seems simple. Why does it feel like I am giving up the better player in the deal?
because you are....by a wide margin.

Owner having cold feet about 2020 1st...seems more likely to get 2019 15th pick + davis.....not as excited about that one.
I’d probably still take that, but first I’d try to add a 3rd on your end to get that 2020 1st.

Re: Devin Funchess

I'm admittedly probably higher on Anderson than most; he had a solid season with mcgown 2 years ago then in the last 1/4 of the season this year he put a season long pace of 96-1440- 12. Now obviously I don't expect those kind of actual numbers but he was clearly having more rapport with Darnold to...
